A New Year!!

Well the last month and a half have literally flown by....the days are too short to get anything done besides the basics...shower, work, take care of kids and eat.  By the time Chuck and I put the girls down it's usually close to 8...and we just want to pass out.  I don't know HOW anyone does this with more than 2...and I absolutely can not even fathom how single parents do it....because having a husband who understands that we are BOTH parents, is what gets me through most days.

Avery is growing like a weed...she was four months last Monday and was around 13.5 pounds.  She has definately turned the 4 month corner...where they become much easier to deal with...she sleeps better, eats better and smiles and laughs ALL the time.  That, too, is what gets me through most days.  Kelsey is now officially binkie free, is in a toddler bed AND we've officially started the potty training.  The binkie was the easiest part of this for us...I know, I know...a lot of parents hate hearing that...I know that's a hard task for a lot...but she was down to only naps and bedtime with it...so when we converted her crib to a toddler bed...we told her no more binkie.  The toddler bed was great the first week....this week she's realized she can get out of it...before Mommy and Daddy want her to in the morning...and nap time on the weekend has been a nightmare...screaming fits galore.  Lots of fun for us.  I refuse to accept that she may be trying to phase out her naps.

Kelsey loves trying to play with her sister...and only gets frustrated when she notices her little sister is getting attention from us.  And Avery just laughs at Kelsey all day long when she's talking to her or making funny faces.  So warms my heart to see them interact together.

Christmas was especially fun for us this year, because Kelsey understood Santa and getting presents.  She loved coming down Christmas morning to see the gifts Santa left with her cousins, Max and Gavin.  She was thrilled with the Minnie Mouse bike he left....which for now is being ridden in the basement because it's too dang cold to do it outside.

January has been unusally warm here in the Northeast...but that hasn't kept the winter sniffles from coming.  Avery, Kelsey and Chuck have had colds for the last 3 weeks...and Avery got the stomach flu last week, which she graciously gave Mommy as well.  Not a fun weekend for ANYONE!!!!

Here's a few pics from the last 2 months.

Took a family trip to Longwood Gardens to see the Christmas lights with Chuck's family.
